Baby Guinea Pigs

I was at a pet supply store on Sunday buying supplies for Jed. There were two baby guinea pigs. I never saw them so small before. They were about the size of a hamster, although maybe a little rounder. They were so cute all curled up in a little bowl resting. I wanted to take one home. I heard that they are born being able to do everything. They can eat and walk around right away, unlike other creatures that come in to the world completly helpless. I have to say that they really did look like an adult guinea pig only smaller. They had fur also. They were both brown and white. They were just so cute.

Knitting with Falkland Island Yarn

I finished my first hat made with the yarn I bought from the Falkland Islands. It is wool yarn made with the wool they sheer from the sheep that are raised at the Dunnose Head Farm. This is their website: www.falklandwool.com. The farm does not sell the yarn themselves but there is a store that sells it. You can get to the website for the store from their website or you can also e-mail them and they can direct you to the website for the store. It is very nice yarn. They do not use any dyes and so the color of the yarn is the color of the sheep it came from. Pretty cool. It is so nice to knit with.

I am now beginning a second hat with the other color yarn I bought from them. One color is kind of gray and the other is a dark brown. They are both very nice.
